What is learnability?

Learnability is the willingness and ability of an individual to grow their skill set quickly. The process involves continuous professional development to remain attractive, relevant, and succeed in the ever-changing work environment. Organizations focus on learnability to ensure their workforce has the required skills and can adjust appropriately to new technologies and processes.
There are three levels of learnability: High learners are eager to learn and are self-driven when it comes to training and development. Potential learners understand the importance of education and development in career progression but are not high learners. Lastly, low learners were born with a strong desire to learn but lost the passion along the way.

Tips on developing learnability

Learnability focuses more on experience and practicality as opposed to the qualifications and job titles that one possesses. Below are a few ways to become a constant learner and expand your experience:

As such, being knowledgeable does not necessarily translate to learnability. In essence, an individual who can gain knowledge on their own will need to practice to hone their skills and advance their career.
